Sit, Stay, Love

Monday, March 18                                   Psalm 118:1-2, 19-29

Many things bring joy and love daily to my life.  It is at quiet times like this when I take a moment to reflect on my past, present and future.  This house is still, safe and warm.  I am surrounded with familiar treasures and comfortable belongings all of which bring a sense of "all is right" in my world.  As I walk past the porch, I see robins diligently pecking at the green, damp earth and pause to listen to the jubilant conversations.  This is a day that the Lord has made and I am grateful.
The phone rings---a precious and joyful granddaughter proceeds to tell me of the adventures ahead in her day with so much enthusiasm that she can barely catch her breath between sharing her expectations!  With "I love yous" and "bye byes" she hears my smile yet would not understand my tears of happiness.  God has made His light shine upon me.
The dryer buzzes—Ahhh, now this.   Two clean dog bedcovers are now ready to be restuffed.    Lots of blonde hairs everywhere, clinging to my black slacks as reminders of our Belle who just wanted to be close.  Such a wonderful little lab who desired nothing but to please all she loved and who loved her.  Those big brown eyes watching, following searching--she could see into your soul.  As we shared the evening fire together, she was always mindful of her people and grateful to be included.  There is an empty place in our hearts yet we are thankful for her time with us.  I seek comfort in God's eternal love, for He is good.

Prayer:  Loving God, guide me as I face challenges daily that require faith, trust and confidence in your love.  Amen

Daily Challenge:  Rejoice in God's enduring love.
